DANCE ATTIRE

We take pride in our dress code at The Arts of the Dance Centre. Much like in other structured recreational activities, proper dance attire and classroom etiquette are essential to the education and training of the student. A dress code encourages unity and shows respect for the art of dance.

Please make every effort to have the proper attire within four weeks of starting classes.

All students must have the dance attire noted: shoes, tights, leotards & hairstyle, to participate in class. When entering and exiting the building, dancers must wear street clothes over their dance attire. Do not wear dance shoes outside! Dancers should have a designated bag to hold all dance shoes and other supplies. Please write your child's name inside all dance shoes to prevent mix-ups.

We greatly appreciate your cooperation in meeting the ADC dance code requirements. Please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.

  • Necklaces, bracelets, watches, large rings, and large earrings are not allowed in any dance class.

  • Black, pink, or gray dance sweaters, fitted shirts, studio t-shirts & leg warmers are allowed during the warm-up exercises.

  • No holes in ballet tights or leotards.

  • If applicable, dancers should wear appropriate undergarments such as a sports bra and transition body-tight under the leotard.

  • Warm-up suits are available to purchase at the studio.

  • Pointe Shoes: Gaynor Minden is our preferred in-store brand. Dancers who wish to opt for a different shoemaker are asked to consult with Miss Sandra.

The Arts of the Dance Centre is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
